Carousel Maker

Type a title and your points, pick a design, and get finished carousel slides with a cover and a closing follow slide. Download PNGs for Instagram or a PDF for a LinkedIn document post. No account, and nothing leaves your browser.

Leave a blank line between points. Each point's first line is its heading and the rest is the text under it. To put several paragraphs on one slide, separate the slides with a line of three dashes (---) instead.

How to make a carousel

1

Write your points

Add a title for the cover, then your points with a blank line between them. Each point's first line becomes its heading.

2

Pick a design

Choose a template and colour, the slide size, and add your name, handle and photo. Swipe through the preview to check every slide.

3

Download and post

Download the PNGs and post them in order as an Instagram carousel, or download the PDF and add it to a LinkedIn post as a document.

Instagram carousels and LinkedIn document posts

A carousel is a post you swipe through. On Instagram it's a set of images posted together (up to 20); on LinkedIn the same effect comes from a document post, where you upload a PDF and LinkedIn shows each page as a slide. This tool makes both from the same slides: a ZIP of PNG images for Instagram and a multi-page PDF for LinkedIn.

LinkedIn accepts PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC and DOCX for document posts, up to 100 MB and 300 pages, and asks you to give the document a title when you add it. Animations and video inside a document show as still images, you can't swap the file after posting, and people who see the post can download it as a PDF. These slides come to well under 100 MB, and a carousel is capped at 32 slides here.

1080 × 1350 (4:5 portrait) takes up the most room in the Instagram and LinkedIn feeds; 1080 × 1080 is the classic square. The first slide does the work of a headline, so keep the title short and specific, put one idea on each slide after it, and end with a slide that tells people what to do next: follow, save or comment.

Text is measured and fitted on each slide as you type: long points shrink in small steps until they fit, and if a point still won't fit at the smallest readable size you're told which slide to shorten. The slides are drawn in your browser. Your text is kept in this browser's storage so it's there next time; your photo isn't stored and nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I post a carousel on LinkedIn?

Download the PDF. On LinkedIn, start a post, choose Add a document (under More on some screens), upload the PDF, give it a title and post. LinkedIn shows the pages as a swipeable carousel. Document posts take PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX files up to 100 MB and 300 pages.

How do I post it on Instagram?

Download the ZIP and unzip it (on a phone, open it in Files and tap it). Create a new post, tap Select multiple, pick the PNGs in number order and share. Instagram allows up to 20 images in one carousel.

What size should carousel slides be?

1080 × 1350 pixels (4:5 portrait) for the most space in the feed on both Instagram and LinkedIn, or 1080 × 1080 for square. Every slide in a carousel should be the same size.

How many slides should a carousel have?

Most do well with 5 to 10: a cover, one idea per slide and a closing slide. Instagram's limit is 20; LinkedIn's is 300 pages, but people rarely swipe that far.

How do I put more than one paragraph on a slide?

Separate your slides with a line of three dashes (---) instead of blank lines. Everything between two --- lines goes on one slide, blank lines included.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The slides are drawn and saved on your device. Your text is kept in your browser's storage so you can come back to it, and your photo isn't stored at all.
