How the estimate is worked out
Brands and agencies price creator content much like advertising: a dollar amount per 1,000 people reached (CPM). Feed posts and Stories are priced on followers, since most of their reach comes from them. Video (TikToks, Reels-style integrations, YouTube) is priced on average views, because that's what the brand actually gets. If you don't enter average views, the calculator assumes a typical share of your followers watch and tells you so.
The base range then moves with your niche, because advertisers selling finance, software or business products pay more per viewer than those selling snacks or games. It also moves with your engagement: above the usual range for your size raises it by a quarter, below lowers it. Paid usage rights, where the brand runs your content as its own ad, add 30% for 30 days and up to 100% in perpetuity. Exclusivity adds 15–50%, and a deadline under a week adds 25%.
The per-1,000 rates are rounded from published creator-rate surveys as of October 2026. Real deals vary widely, so treat the result as where to start the conversation. Creators with strong past results, a loyal audience or a hard-to-reach niche can and should ask for more.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge for a sponsored Instagram post?
A common starting point is about $5–$10 per 1,000 followers for a feed post and a little more for a Reel, so roughly $250–$500 at 50,000 followers. Niche, engagement and usage rights move it from there.
What are usage rights?
Permission for the brand to run your content as a paid ad from its own account or yours (whitelisting). It replaces content the brand would otherwise pay to produce, so it's charged on top, by how long it lasts.
Should I tell the brand my rate first?
Asking for their budget first is common, but having your own number ready means you can answer straight away and recognise a low offer. Quote a range or a package price rather than a per-post minimum.
Do small creators get paid?
Yes. Nano and micro creators often have higher engagement and cheaper rates, which many brands prefer. The calculator never suggests less than $50 for a piece of content.
