Separate tags with

Lines that were only hashtags are replaced by your list. Tags inside a sentence stay put and aren't repeated.

Saved sets

Save the tags you use again and again, then add a set to any caption in one tap. Sets stay in this browser only.

How to clean up your hashtags

1

Paste your caption

Its hashtags appear as a list, with repeats merged and counted. Add more by typing them in.

2

Fix the flagged ones

Remove restricted or spammy tags, fix broken ones, and sort or move the rest into the order you want.

3

Copy or save

Copy just the hashtags or the whole caption with them at the end, and save the list as a set for next time.

How hashtags are found and checked

A hashtag is a # followed by letters, numbers or underscores, with at least one letter: #2024 on its own isn't a tag, but #2024goals is. Any other character ends the tag, so #self-care only links #self and #don't only links #don. The organizer finds tags the same way the apps do and warns you when a tag runs into punctuation, an emoji or the next tag.

Apps treat #Travel and #travel as the same tag, so duplicates are merged ignoring capitals, keeping the spelling you used first. Instagram has allowed only 5 hashtags on a post or Reel since December 2025, Threads allows one topic tag, and YouTube ignores every hashtag on a video that has more than 60.

Restricted tags come from lists of tags reported as hidden on Instagram at some point. Instagram doesn't publish its own list and lifts restrictions without notice, so search a flagged tag in the app to see whether it shows recent posts. Saved sets are kept in your browser's storage on this device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How many hashtags can I use on Instagram?

5 per post or Reel, since December 2025; it used to be 30. Use the “Keep the first 5” button after putting your best tags first.

Do hashtags in the first comment count?

Instagram hasn't said. Its limit of 5 covers posts and Reels, and many creators report that tags in their own first comment count toward it, so the safe choice is to keep all your tags to 5 in total.

How do I know if a hashtag is banned?

Search for it on Instagram. If it shows no recent posts or a message that posts are hidden, it's restricted. The organizer flags tags that have been reported as restricted, but the list changes, so check before you rely on it.

Are #Travel and #travel different hashtags?

No. Capitals don't matter to the apps, so the organizer treats them as one tag. Capitals can still make long tags easier to read, like #ThrowbackThursday.

Where are my saved sets kept?

In your browser's local storage on this device. They aren't uploaded or synced, so they won't appear on another device and are removed if you clear your browser data.
