Plan

0 to post.

The ZIP holds the planned photos named post-01, post-02… in the order to post them, at up to 1080 px wide. “Mark #1 as posted” moves the next photo into your posted ones once it's up.

Your plan stays in this browser, so it's here next time. Photos are kept as smaller copies on this device only. Nothing is uploaded.

How to plan your Instagram feed

1

Add your photos

Choose all the photos you plan to post at once. Add a few of your latest posts with “Add already posted” to see how the new ones sit next to them.

2

Drag them into order

Drag photos around the grid. On a phone, press and hold a photo until it lifts, then move it. You can also tap a photo and use the arrow buttons.

3

Post in order

Switch to “Posting order” and post from the top, starting with #1 at the bottom right of the plan. Mark each one as posted as you go.

How the preview matches your profile

Instagram's profile grid has three columns, and since 2025 it shows every post as a 3:4 rectangle (1080 × 1440 px) rather than a square. Photos of any other shape are cropped to fit, keeping the middle, just as they are here. The full photo still shows when someone opens the post.

Your newest post always goes in the top-left corner and pushes the rest along by one place. So the photo at the bottom right of your plan is the one to post first, and the top-left one goes up last. The numbers on the grid and the posting order list work this out for you. If you add photos you've already posted, they appear below the plan, where they'll be once the new posts are up.

The plan is kept on your device in your browser's storage (IndexedDB), so it's still there when you come back. Photos are stored as smaller copies, at most 1080 px wide, and are never uploaded. “Clear plan” deletes them, and so does clearing this site's data in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Which photo do I post first?

The one marked #1, at the bottom right of your planned photos. Instagram puts each new post at the top left, so the top-left photo of your plan is the last one to post.

Why are the grid tiles 3:4 and not square?

Instagram changed the profile grid to 3:4 rectangles in 2025. 4:5 portrait posts lose a thin strip at each side on the grid, and square posts lose some of the top and bottom. Posting at 1080 × 1440 px avoids any crop.

Are my photos uploaded or saved anywhere?

No. They stay on your device. Smaller copies are saved in your browser's own storage so your plan is there next time, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else. Use “Clear plan” to delete them.

Will my plan be there if I come back on another device?

No. The plan lives in the browser you made it in, on that device. Private or incognito windows forget it when they close.

Can I post the photos from the ZIP?

Yes. They're the saved copies, up to 1080 px wide, named post-01, post-02… in posting order. For the very best quality, post your original photos in the same order.

What about pinned posts and Reels?

Pinned posts sit at the top left whatever their date, so leave them out of the plan and remember they push everything along. Reels show on the grid by their cover, cropped to 3:4: add the cover image to plan around it.
